I've decided that everyone's doing it wrong here. I thoroughly watched the videos on how to use this and followed the directions and have had no issues. Couple tips that I had before slicing away on delicate tissue paper:

1. FOLD a piece of printer paper AROUND the section you will be fringing. This acts as a barrier-- on both sides--for the extremely delicate tissue paper to be cut perfectly into fringe. I saw this demonstrated on a few videos, including an HSN presentation. Do this the entire way and you will have professional looking fringe.

2. You need to put a bit of strength and pressure into the slicing process, or it will not cut cleanly and thoroughly. Standing and not sitting helped me with this.

Doing these simple things when cutting your fringe will make it completely worth it! Good luck and enjoy.
